It Was A Mask All Along

Some speculate that extraterrestrial visitors will not be extraterrestrial at all, rather humans from the future time traveling backward to observe our species at significant moments and even guiding us in critical moments such as gaining the ability to create fire.
In this conclusion of the trip-tych, it is revealed to us that what we always assumed was the alien's faces were actually masks/helmets all along and that their true form beneath the mask is the infamous vampire species from Earth. It is the immortal nature of their biology that has allowed them to travel through time and space unaffected by the aging that humans experience.
